Report from Washington DC

We had a productive trip at the nation’s capitol on September 9-12, 2024

Georgia delegation meeting with Rep. Austin Scott’s staff member.

In conjunction with the American Association of Christian Schools National Legislative Conference, the Citizen Impact Executive Director, Paul Smith, traveled to Washington, DC on September 11-13. (Cory Lawrence could not travel because he is still recovering.)

On Wednesday, Paul Smith, along with Steven Brondyke (GACS Executive Director), Pastor Tim Campbell (Old Suwanee Baptist Church), Pastor Seth Hon (Grace Baptist Church), Dr. Mark Cronemeyer (Killian Hill Christian School), and Colt Key (Victory Baptist School), went to Capitol Hill for meetings in several legislative offices. This included seeing several members of Congress. The focus of the legislative aspect of the conference was school choice initiatives. We also spoke with the congressmen, and/or their staff, about the increasing infringement upon religious freedom.
