Pastors’ & Ministry Leaders’ Day 2025 Recap
We had a fantastic Pastors’ & Ministry Leaders’ Day on February 25th! Over 125 pastors and ministry leaders from all over the state attended, along with several legislators joining us. Pastor Brian Patrick delivered a gospel message at breakfast followed by an address from Governor Kemp. Senator Ed Setzler spoke passionately on the Georgia Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). He explained why it is vital to the protection of religious freedom in Georgia and answered questions on how it would apply to the average person. Senator Setzler also charged the pastors to get involved, reach out to their legislators about RFRA, and raise awareness for it in their congregations.
Citizen Impact also partnered with the First American Bible Project to get a copy of the Aitken Bible (originally printed in 1782 and the only Bible ever approved by Congress – more information here) in the hands of every legislator at the Georgia General Assembly and all of the Constitutional officers. On our Pastor & Ministry Leaders’ Day, many of the pastors met with their legislators to deliver their personalized reproduction of the Aitken Bible in person. Additionally, Stephen Skelton with First American Bible Project, brought an original First American Bible to the Georgia Capitol and displayed it throughout the day so that pastors, ministry leaders, legislators, and others could view it. It was truly inspiring!
We ended the day with lunch and an inspiring, first-hand testimony from Dr. Richard Callahan. Dr. Callahan shared a little bit about his experience “re-opening” his church during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, North Carolina put intensive restrictions on churches, and, after much thought and prayer, Dr. Callahan decided it was wrong for Christians to be silent and allow their religious freedom to be taken away because the church was considered “non-essential” by government. He opened up his church, but was eventually forced to sue the government for this encroachment on religious liberty. As a result, Governor Cooper had to rollback restrictions on churches. Dr. Callahan urged attendees to stand for religious freedom and to never let the church shutdowns of 2020 happen again.!
Thanks to all who attended, supported, and exhibited at our 2025 Pastors’ & Ministry Leaders’ Day! We are thankful for all God has already done in 2025.
